On Saturday April 23rd, Karl Graves made it official to become a Raider of Southern Oregon University in Ashland Oregon. After Official visits with Western Oregon, Central Washington, and Southern Oregon University, Karl said Southern felt like the best fit. Hiring a new coach back in February, Craig Howard, Karl made a weekend of it down at the Ashland campus. Hearing that the Raiders plan to run the same no huddle offense he had been use to for the past four years of High school at Skyview, and the fact that SOU had only 3 receivers on the roster, and were looking for a total of 12, Karl felt he would be a perfect fit into the Raiders new system. Coach Howard felt the same way. Offering a scholarship, and discussing with Karl that the coaches feel he could come in and play significant minutes as a freshman, if he works hard, Karl decided to sign with them. This season the Raiders have 4-home games in Ashland, and play at Portland State on Sept. 3rd, and Willamette of Salem Sept. 17th.
Graves finished his career with Skyview in first or second place in every offensive receiving category, career catches of 108 for 1821 yds. 25 touchdowns with an average of 16.8 yds. per catch, all this while missing four and a half games with a high ankle sprain his senior year.
Karl was 1st team all county voted by the GSHL both his Jr. and Senior year, and will be playing in the All state East/West High School game this summer on July 1st in Spokane, before reporting so Southern in early August.

National signing day brought about good news for Skyview High School senior Cody Fields. The All-League, All-Region and All-State football player signed his letter accepting an appointment to the United States Merchant Marine Academy. Cody will play football for the “Mariners” in the Liberty League. The USMMA is located at Kings Point, Long Island, New York, just a few miles from New York City. The USMMA is a military academy likened to West Point and Annapolis with high academic standards and a demanding 4 year regimental system.

February 2nd was a day of blessings and celebration! Life long dreams that seemed so far away, not all that long ago, are now very real and directly in front of Skyview two-sport star, Ellis Henderson! Ellis enjoyed his signing day experience surrounded by the people who have mentored, supported and assisted him throughout life.
A group of approximately 30 people gathered at a mid-morning signing event that included Ellis’ closest friends, members of the Henderson/Mohammadi families, all his sisters and brother Reiley, Skyview Varsity Coaching Staff, Paul Valencia from the Columbian and other supporting friends. Ellis will pursue a degree in Marine Biology through the prestigious Hawaii aquatic reserve, Coconut Island in Kaneohe Bay on the northern side of Oahu!
