There’s no doubt that the Skyview football program has proven itself to be top notch. 5 GSHL 4A championships in the last 6 years including the last 4 years straight. In 2009, Rick Fields became the voice of Skyview home football games which added an element that only he could bring. Rick is larger than life, a world traveller, a retired colonel, he has played the game, he has coached the game, he loves the game, and to say that he loves Skyview football is an understatement.

This year marks the first year that Rick is not watching a sampling of the 240 players that he coached in the CCYF league, where he helped develop young players for 7 years while his sons played. Earlier in his life Rick was a member of the University of Nebraska football team. Additionally, he organized and coached the Russelsheim Crusaders, leading them to 2 championships in his 3 years coaching while he served in the US military in Germany.

Anyone who’s been to Skyview football post game gathering will attest that Rick is a born story teller and entertainer. Combine that with a perfect stadium voice, love and knowledge of the game, his dedicated spotter and personal friend Dan Brady, and you have the perfect ingredients to add to the excitement that is happening down on the gridiron.
